COVID19 In-Home Consultation Safety Protocol

Per Ohio Governor guidelines for re-opening Ohio during the COVID19 Pandemic, Nurture will be offering In-Home services to families as of May 1, 2020. In-Home Lactation and Physical Therapy Consultations are available with safety protocols in place for both staff and clients. Virtual consultations will continue to be available, allowing families to choose the service that best fits their needs. Please reach out with any questions on how we can best serve you!

The following are required protocols for both staff and clients (based on CDC recommendations for in-home lactation visits):

Nurture Columbus Staff Requirements

  • Take temperature of yourself and all in household and ensure yourself and all in household are symptom free at the beginning of each day.
    • Temperature should be below 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Symptoms to watch for include: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell.
  • Contact client within 24 hours of appointment to verify that all in their household is temperature and symptom free. If not, switch to virtual appointment.
  • Wear Surgical, KN95, or N95 Mask during consultation.
  • Wash hands at beginning and end of consult (use hand sanitizer if washing hands is not accessible).
  • Wear disposable medical gloves when touching parent or baby.
  • Remove shoes upon entering home.
  • Clean and disinfect all equipment used between each visit.
  • Stay 6 feet away from client and other in home when not providing hands on support or close observation.
  • Client will be charged electronically after visit to avoid in-person payment

Client Requirements

  • Take your temperature and all in household prior to consultation. Notify Nurture Columbus if anyone has a temperature or symptoms to reschedule or switch to virtual consultation.
    • Temperature should be below 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. 
    • Symptoms to watch for include: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell.
  • Notify Nurture Columbus if you have been exposed to COVID19 and are currently asymptomatic.
  • Anyone 2 years old or over that will be present during the consultation must wear a mask – Please let Nurture Columbus know if you do not have access to masks.
  • Have hand sanitizer out and available for use during consultation (consultant will also have hand sanitizer, if needed).
