Happy World Breastfeeding Week! It is one of our favorite times of the year; a chance to celebrate breastfeeding, pumping, chestfeeding, and any drop of human milk you were able to give to your baby.
World Breastfeeding Week also rings in Nurture Columbus’ first year anniversary! It has been an amazing year for Allyson and I (Julie), growing as Lactation Consultants, and growing our services into something we are really proud to be a part of together. We have worked with some amazing families, who inspire us and challenge us to create a business that really gets to the heart of what families need in Columbus. We thank each of you for being a part of this exciting time, whether you were a client who chose our services or a friend/family member cheering us on! We truly appreciate each of you. Some highlights from this year include:
-Accepting 3 insurance plans for zero out of pocket expenses
-Switching to online scheduling to make services even more readily available for families
-Offering discounted consults to families with an active WIC and/or Medicaid card
-Presenting on “Home-Based Lactation Care: System Integration for Better Population Health and Cost Effectiveness” at Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus, April 2019 Regional Learning Session
-Allyson accepting a position as President of the Ohio Lactation Consultant Association (OLCA) and representing OLCA at conferences around the State and Country!
We hope to accept more insurance this coming year and look forward to more opportunities to advocate for Columbus families!
