We specialize in prenatal and postpartum lactation and developmental support and education. Our staff includes experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and Physical Therapists that meet with you in the comfort of your own home!

Nurture provides clinical care to families on all things infant feeding, including: breastfeeding, chestfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, and weaning. Our team brings a unique multidisciplinary approach with expertise in both advanced lactation care and infant development. We help your little ones optimize their movement and ability to feed by incorporating tummy time and gentle exercises in each consultation.

I worked with Allyson while I was postpartum with my second baby. I cannot express how helpful and knowledgeable she has been for my breastfeeding journey. I would not have been able to continue breastfeeding without her guidance. She helped me through latching struggles, tongue and lip tie, mastitis, introducing bottles, exercises for baby and more. The home visits are invaluable especially in the beginning weeks. She has been super responsive to any questions I have even in between sessions. Cannot recommend Nurture enough!! Schedule with them, you won’t regret it.

Allyson at Nurture Columbus is the best of the best! We worked with Nurture after having our first baby and feel empowered and equipped with the tools to feed and fuel our baby. We highly recommend Nuture Columbus. Allyson came to my home after originally working with the hospital, lactation consultant and a hospital, nurse who was a lactation consultant. Both of those people had essentially communicated to me that my son would not be able to be free of the nipple shield that we were using originally to breast-feed. my main goal in working with Allyson was to get off of the nipple shield and to have my son be able to breast-feed in latch without excruciating pain.
Within 15 minutes of our first meeting, we were able to start on the nipple shield and then get my son to feed directly without it just due to some simple position changes and holding techniques. The week after that, he was nipple shield free! it took a few more weeks, but we were also able to correct the pain that I had with him feeding. Ultimately, this pain was due to a tongue and lip tie that Alyson helped us get corrected and provide helpful tips and exercises for rehab.
Additionally, there was a lot of time spent showing us fun tummy time exercises and overall strength training to also help assist with better feeding!
my son is currently five months old and we are still going strong with our exclusively breast-feeding journey. I couldn’t imagine having lasted this long in my early postpartum days, but with the assistance of Allyson, I am so glad we have made this far!

This post is long overdue, as today my daughter turns 18 months. I’ve been meaning to share just how grateful I am for Joanne’s incredible kindness. My breastfeeding journey was difficult, and despite ultimately switching to pumping, Joanne provided unwavering support. She patiently answered all my questions and made sure to include my husband, so I never felt alone. During a time when I was grappling with postpartum depression and anxiety, Joanne's validation of my thoughts and feelings meant the world to me.

We’ve used Nurture Columbus’ in-home services 3 times since our child’s birth in late May. Angela has been our consultant and we have been nothing but thankful and impressed with her knowledge, demeanor and guidance. We’ve talked through latch but also supply, developmental milestones, tummy time and more. For Out Of Network Plans/Self Pay we accept HSA cards and can submit an insurance claim on your behalf. Any funds reimbursed will be sent to you directly from your insurer.
